Sea And Beach Patrol

This will facilitate usage of the beach in an organized and safe manner. There have been unaccounted numerous accidents which often go unreported and are dangerous. Thus, the creation of a special water sports patrol with rescue & first aid equipment will become indispensable for the safety of visitors as tourist figures grow in the coming years. Phoenix Beach Patrol will monitor nominated areas and segments of the beach for surfing and swimming and dedicate marked water lanes for the flow of sea vehicular traffic such as kite surfing, water skiing, sailing and speed boats to make the experience safer and enjoyable for everyone.

Lifeguards will supervise the safety and rescue of swimmers, surfers, and other water sports enthusiasts such as in a swimming pool, water park, or beach. Lifeguards are strong swimmers and trained in first aid, certified in water rescue using a variety of aids and equipment depending on requirements of their particular venue. In some communities, lifeguards are part of the emergency services system to assist in incidents and may function as the primary EMS provider. At Phoenix Beach trained lifeguards proficient in first aid will be provided with a well stocked first aid kit. They will have advanced first aid items such as supplemental oxygen, a suction device, resuscitator, defibrillator or AED or a spinal immobilization board available at the beach rescue centre.

For duty areas over a wide area, such as Phoenix Beach, lifeguards will be provided with transport over distance and they may use land transport including pick-up trucks, and quad bikes. They will also use larger water craft such as large rigid and inflatable boats with multi-power engines.
